3. General Information and Mandatory Disclosures
Protection of Your Data
We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
SSL Encryption
For security reasons, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" in your browser's address bar and the padlock icon.
Storage Period
Unless a more specific storage period is stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted, provided no other legally permissible reasons for storage exist.
Your Rights
You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of the data processing. You also have the right to:
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion of your data
- Restriction of processing
- Object to processing
- Data portability
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (responsible for North Rhine-Westphalia: North Rhine-Westphalia Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information)
You can contact us at any time regarding these matters — you can find our contact details under point 1.
Withdrawal of Your Consent
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may withdraw any consent you have already given at any time for the future. The lawfulness of data processing carried out prior to the withdrawal remains unaffected.
Right to Object
Where data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object to the processing of your personal data.
4. Cookies
This website does not use tracking, marketing, or third-party cookies. We use neither our own nor third-party cookies to analyse your behaviour on our site or to serve you advertising.
For this reason, we deliberately do without a cookie banner. You can use this site without consenting to any form of tracking.
5. Data Collection on This Website
Server Log Files
When you access our website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically collects information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits. These are:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address (processed in shortened or anonymised form)
This data is not merged with other data sources and is used solely to ensure the smooth operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free provision of the website).
Contact Form
If you send us enquiries via our contact form or by email, your details (name, email address, message) will be stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries). The data you submit remains with us until you request its deletion or the purpose for storing it no longer applies.
Event Registration
For registration for our events (group evenings, Dignity World Cafés, themed evenings), we link to external registration forms created using Google Forms. If you register via these forms, Google LLC's privacy policy applies. We only receive the registration information you voluntarily enter into the form (e.g. name, email). More information at: policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Tools Used
Vercel Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, a cookie-free and privacy-friendly analytics tool provided by Vercel Inc. (see above). Vercel Analytics anonymously measures the reach of our pages — no cookies are set, no personal data is stored, and no profiles are created. Only aggregated data such as page views and approximate geographic origin (at country level) is collected.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the statistical evaluation of our website's usage). More information: vercel.com/docs/analytics/privacy-policy.
OpenStreetMap
On our contact page, we display a map via OpenStreetMap, operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. When you open the map, your IP address is transmitted to OpenStreetMap so that the map tiles can be displayed in your browser.
We use OpenStreetMap in the interest of a privacy-friendly alternative to commercial map providers. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. More information can be found in OpenStreetMap's privacy policy: wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
Fonts (Self-Hosted)
We use the font "DM Sans", which is loaded directly from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or other font servers. Your IP address is not transmitted to third parties.
7. Internal Content Management
For the internal maintenance of our content (e.g. events, project descriptions), we use the content management system provided by Sanity.io Inc., 107 South B Street, San Mateo, CA 94401, USA. This service is used exclusively by authorised members of the association — as a website visitor, you do not come into contact with it.
Sanity is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and processes only content data that we actively enter — no data from website visitors.
More information: sanity.io/legal/privacy.
8. Objection to Promotional Emails
We hereby object to the use of contact details published under the legal obligation to provide a legal notice for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and information materials. The operators of this site expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited sending of promotional information, such as spam emails.
Last updated: June 2026. We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy to ensure it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services.
